Literacy, Leadership, Technology Academy implements an equitable curriculum with content that is both deep and rich enough to address students with different levels of understanding in order to extend learning to all students.
LLT Academy’s curriculum includes emphasis on reading comprehension as well as writing, spelling, grammar, listening skills and public speaking, also math, science, history, technology, leadership and character. Sunshine State Standards are used as a guideline to ensure all students are exposed to the same advanced level of skills and concepts as taught in the Hillsborough County School System. It is our intent, however, to go beyond the teaching used in the public school system in order to offer a unique learning experience to our students.
LLT Academy uses E.D. Hirsch Knowledge Curriculum (www.coreknowledge.org) as the foundation of our educational program. LLT Academy also uses TCI Living History (www.historyalive.com), Saxon Math (www.saxonpublishers.com), SRA Language Arts (www.sraonline.com), Foss Middle School Science (www.lawrencehallofscience.org/foss/components/ms.html), and Character Counts (www.charactercounts.org). We use technology designed for our curriculum in the classroom and use the IDCL world renowned corporate technology program in our computer lab.
